Local Myths and Legends from Poland

Most of famous Polish legends are related to our capitals: the  former ones,  Gniezno   and Cracow (Polish Kraków) as well as the present one, Warsaw (Polish Warszawa).

The children in classes I-III listened to or read the legends and each class chose one to prepare illustrations.

All the children drew them and the best ones were chosen to the booklet.

The short texts of the legends were written by classes III and IV, and translated into English by our teacher. Our booklet consists of four legends.

In older classes two contests were organized.  The History teacher  held a contest for a power point presentation with a legend. The best presentations will be put on CDs and presented to our partner schools. The ITC teacher announced a competition for the illustration from a chosen legend. The best pictures are included in the booklet: you can see them on the covers.

Now we are preparing plays based on our legends. In April we will record them and put on CDs.
